Most Energy Efficient Home of 2015
June 15, 2016 | Posted by john-lavery
Here at Mid-Atlantic Builders, we pride ourselves on the quality, customization and energy-efficiency of our product. We take the time to find the best products possible and engineer everything that we do to save our customers money and make them as comfortable as possible in their new home.
Mid-Atlantic Builders was recognized by the Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO) for building the Most Energy Efficient Home in 2015 at a recent event highlighting the achievements of local builders in Southern Maryland. The recognition was given to one of our homes built in The Villages of Savannah community, which had an estimated savings of 7.4 megawatt-hours (MWh) per year. That translates into saving the customer an estimated $1,000 in annual energy savings!
This serves as a constant reminder to pay attention to the quality of a new home versus the price tag. A new home is a significant long-term investment and eventually the energy bill will show what goes on behind the exterior façade.
We are honored that SMECO would recognize us with such a prestigious award and are humbled by the recognition of our product. For a detailed look at our Energy$mart program, visit us on our website and see all of the ways that Mid-Atlantic Builders can help our customers build not only a beautiful house on the outside, but on the inside as well.
Remembering Memorial Day
May 26, 2016 | Posted by john-lavery
Most people associate Memorial Day with the beginning of summer vacation, a day off of work, backyard barbecues and celebrations with family and friends. We must remember that Memorial Day is a special day to honor our veterans who served in the US Armed Forces. The holiday began after the Civil War, and was originally named “Decoration Day.” While initially founded to honor the soldiers who died in the Civil War, today Memorial Day honors all Americans who have served or died in military service.
Many of us living in the Washington, D.C. area have deep connections to the military. We all know someone who has honorably served our country overseas in uniform. Today we take a moment to remember all those who we have lost, and to be grateful for the sacrifice that they made for the good of America as a whole. We at Mid-Atlantic Builders and everyone throughout the country are deeply appreciative.
On behalf of the entire Mid-Atlantic Builders’ family, we would like to take a moment to remember the brave members of our armed forces who had their lives cut short in an effort to protect our country. Thank you and Happy Memorial Day!
