WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 29, 2008) — Mid-Atlantic Builders, Inc., an award-winning homebuilding and land development company, received an esteemed Community Service Award today from Maryland-National Capital Building Industry Association’s Home Builders Care Foundation. This award honors Mid-Atlantic Builders for two important service projects completed in 2008. The first project was the renovation of the Langworthy Home, a transitional home for at-risk youth that is operated by the Maryland-based nonprofit, Hearts and Homes for Youth. Mid-Atlantic Builders took this opportunity to give the 86-year old home new kitchen countertops, a new brick patio in the backyard, patched walls, a new roof, a newly painted porch and new dining room tiles. The Langworthy Home is professionally staffed 24-hours a day and is currently occupied by eight boys ranging in age from 12-17. The second project that Mid-Atlantic Builders is being honored for is a corporate community service completed for the Jewish Housing & Community Development Corporation of Greater Washington DC. In this project, Mid-Atlantic Builders renovated the kitchen in a home occupied by a low-income homeowner.
