The first step in your journey towards owning a Mid-Atlantic home is selecting
your home type. Mid-Atlantic offers a variety of models and a number of features
which allow you to give your home a personal touch. The Mid-Atlantic models and
features are available for customization in each community section of this
website. After you have designed your home, or if you need assistance, come
visit one of our sales centers where a member of our sales team will be happy to
guide you through this process.
Once you have selected your home model and selected your features, your
Community Sales Counselor will break down the costs asssociated with purchasing
your Mid-Atlantic home from down payment to monthly payments.
The next step in the process is reserving your homesite. Mid-Atlantic
requires a refundable deposit which reserves your homesite for up to 5 days.
This gives you the right of first refusal for your homesite and locks in pricing
and any promotions during that period.
With your home designed and your homesite on hold, you can now proceed with
the purchase agreement. Your purchase agreement meeting will be conducted by
your Community Sales Counselor. At this meeting, you will be apprised of the
remaining steps in the home purchasing process. The Community Sales Counselor
will explain financing, real estate agency, local government, homeowner's
associations, warranty and other disclosures. You will also receive a
Mid-Atlantic Homeowner's Journal which outlines the complete Mid-Atlantic
Builders home ownership process.
To further expedite your pathway to ownership, Mid-Atlantic provides a
mortgage pre-application kit. The mortgage pre-applcation kit will take you
through the information you need to provide in order to begin getting approval
for your home mortgage application.
Before you settle on your Mid-Atlantic home, there is a management inspection
and a home orientation. The management inspection is a final inspection, by
Mid-Atlantic, to ensure that all aspects of your home meet the standards set
forth by Mid-Atlantic Builders. Following this inspection any changes that need
to be made will be given to your personal builder, and an outline of these changes
will also be included in your corporate file. Following management inspection,
and completion of any changes requested during the management inspection, is the
home orientation. The home orientation is an opportunity for you to become
familiar with your home and view the finished product in its entirety. This
will also serve as an opportunity for you to become acquainted with the
inner-workings of your home, from the electric breakers to the windows.
At settlement, ownership of your Mid-Atlantic home is officially
transferred. Your settlement appointment will take place at a professional
settlement office supervised by a licensed settlement officer. You can refer to
your Mid-Atlantic Homeowner’s Journal for more information about the settlement
process.
