Our History
Humble Beginnings
Mid-Atlantic Builders started with humble beginnings — just our founder, Roger, a few big ideas, and an office in his garage. Established in 1979 as a land development company, Mid-Atlantic quickly expanded into building both neighborhoods and homes known for their high quality. In time, Roger passed down the business to his daughter Andrea and her husband Mike, who shared his vision of delivering better design, value, and customer service to homeowners across the DMV.
At the heart of it all, we believe caring about people makes the difference. From our dedicated team of employees, to our trusted vendors and trade partners, and - most of all - the homeowners we serve, every relationship matters. This spirit of collaboration, respect, and care guides everything we do. Because for us, building a home isn’t just about a product; it’s about creating spaces where people can live, grow, and connect for years to come.
Giving Back
Community involvement has always been at the heart of Mid-Atlantic Builders. Our founder, Roger, believed that strong communities are built on more than houses - they're built on connection, service and care. Roger led by example, serving on multiple boards and committees throughout his career, including as President of the Maryland-National Capital Building Industry Association.
Today, Roger's commitment to service continues with our family and leadership team at Mid-Atlantic Builders. We actively serve on boards and committees for industry associations, schools, medical organizations, religious affiliations, and more, to help nonprofits in our community thrive. Each year, we dedicate both time and financial resources to causes that strengthen the neighborhoods where we live and build, carrying forward a legacy of service that defined our company from the very beginning.
